We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for not one, but two awards in the notable Motor Transport Awards! These awards have been running for nearly 40 years and are among the largest and most reputable in the transport industry.
Best Use of Technology Award
The Best Use of Technology Award recognises those who have used technology to enhance service, resulting in clear benefits to the customer and improved efficiencies.
Our entry revolves around our milk app, which improves the real-time planning of our milk operations. This bespoke app, designed in-house, has resulted in a 17% improvement in planning tasks and helps us efficiently manage the seasonal supply fluctuations of the dairy customers we support. Given we collect 20% of all the milk produced in the UK, these efficiency improvements make a big difference.
Alan Worden, Optimisation Director said:
“As a Group we constantly leverage technology to drive progress and deliver visionary logistics solutions for our customers. The milk app is an excellent example of how technology can make a significant difference. By centralising data and providing our teams with real-time visibility we have enhanced route efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions on behalf of our customers. It is a delight to hear that the Motor Transport Awards consider our technology to be one of the best in the industry and this recognition must go to our talented team.”
Low Carbon Award
The Low Carbon Award recognises operators who have made significant progress in reducing their carbon emissions by significantly improving the efficiency of a diesel or gas vehicle fleet, reducing empty running or improving load fill, reducing fuel consumption by improving driver performance, and using alternative low carbon fuels such as biofuels, hydrogen, or electricity.
Thanks to our net zero strategy, we are able to demonstrate all the above. Our award entry outlines our strategy, including our renewable fuel approach and how we are supporting our people to achieve efficiencies that improve the carbon footprint of ourselves and our customers.
Paul Jefferson, Sustainability Director said:
"Leading the future of sustainable logistics is not just a goal, but a commitment we live by every day. We are incredibly proud to be working with our customers and partners to drive meaningful change. To be recognised by the Motor Transport Awards for our efforts is a brilliant accolade and testament to the hard work and dedication of our forward-thinking team.”
The 2025 Motor Transport Award winners will be announced in September. Good luck to all of our fellow shortlisted transport companies.
