The Gregory Group commits to achieving net zero by 2038 and significantly reducing its carbon footprint across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions by 2030 in line with its SBTi validated emission reduction target.
Operating within the transport sector, the Group’s environmental impact is mostly associated with the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions resulting from its core activity, namely its transport operations. Theseemissions are responsible for a significant majority of the Group’s overall carbon footprint.
However, understanding the relationship between environmental and sustainability matters, the Group commits to reducing its environmental impact and accelerating its transition to a sustainable future by setting out further targets, including:
• Reducing greenhouse gas emissions - Gregory Group commits to reducing its Scope 1 GHG emissions by 42% by 2030 through the use of low or zero carbon fuels.
• Reducing non-renewable energy consumption - Gregory Group commits to using 100% renewable energy on sites it has direct control over. This includes renewable solar energy produced on some of the Group’s sites as well as renewable energy sourced from energy suppliers.
• Reducing air pollution - Gregory Group commits to reducing the number of particulates released to the atmosphere by 20% by 2030.
• Reducing waste - Gregory Group commits to becoming a “Zero Landfill” organisation by 2030.
• Reducing water usage - Gregory Group commits to reducing its freshwater usage by 10% by 2030.
• Reducing negative impact on biodiversity - Gregory Group commits to targeting at least 10% Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) for all future developments.
