Storage and warehousing

Many of our customers wish to outsource their storage and warehousing which, now that we are part of Gregory Group, we can offer. Our customers benefit from a network of 20 warehouses which have a combined space of 2,000,000 sq ft of ambient, temperature controlled, and bonded storage space.

We are a team of 200 people who are passionate about haulage. For many of us, it has been in our veins from a young age with our ancestors also being part of this industry.

Our history

George (WGD) Pollock began his local cartage business in Corstorphine (West of Edinburgh) in 1935.

In 1949 the fleet became part of British Road Services when road transport was nationalised, but in 1954, partial de-nationalisation gave George the opportunity to buy some vehicles and licences and start the business again.

In 1963, George's two sons, Ian and George, joined the business. At this time Ian came up with the idea of individually naming the trucks - a tradition that continues today.

In 1984, Scott, the third generation, joined the business. Nine years later, Ian's son Fraser also joined the business.

After 55 years at Mussleburgh, the head office for Pollock moved to Bathgate in 2006.

In 2021, Pollock was acquired by Gregory Group, a logistics company that originated in the South West of England and now provides logistics solutions nationwide.

Pollock was acquired by Gregory Group in 2021. With a 100-year heritage, the ethics and reputations of the two businesses are very similar.
